FrameX is a rootless Android performance overlay and hardware tuning tool powered by Shizuku. It provides real-time, zero-overhead FPS metering and deep thermal diagnostics while forcing native display locks. Users gain direct control over system throttling and background processes without requiring root privileges.

Technical Overview of FrameX

FrameX measures frame rates directly at the Android OS compositor layer via privileged IPC calls to SurfaceFlinger --timestats, ensuring zero telemetry overhead on GPU rendering threads. It leverages Shizuku to interface with IThermalService for multi-sensor hardware diagnostics while managing background application suspension and crash-safe settings snapshots. For Vivo devices on OriginOS 6, it directly overrides global RMS code 33 Binder locks and completely suppresses the system thermal throttle daemon to sustain unthrottled 120Hz display modes.

Core Features of FrameX

  • Zero-Overhead FPS Telemetry: Reads compositor pipeline data directly via SurfaceFlinger to display exact frame rates.
  • Deep Thermal Diagnostics: Interrogates raw IThermalService HAL dumps and sysfs zones for precise hardware temperature metrics.
  • Process & CPU Management: Purges cached background applications and applies Doze CPU whitelisting to prioritize active foreground tasks.
  • Vivo Hardware Locks: Forces 120Hz Mode 4 resolutions, triggers GameCube competition mode, and suppresses thermal throttling daemons.

Compatibility & Quick Setup

Requires Android 8.0 or newer — install the APK and authorize privileged system access via Shizuku.
