Ever felt your phone’s GPU is either lazy or a power hungry monster? I did. On my rooted Transsion device (think Tecno, Infinix, Itel), I found control with the S.I.O.N app. It’s a initial release tool built specifically for rooted MediaTek chips, and it’s been a game changer for my battery and performance balance.

This isn’t a generic tweak. S.I.O.N speaks directly to your hardware. You grant permissions via Magisk Manager, KSU, APatch or other root tools, and suddenly, you’re the boss of your GPU.

Here’s what you can actually do with it:

  • Scale the Interface for GPU OPP Nodes.
  • Calibrate GPU voltage levels, pin frequency, and maximize power efficiency.
  • Customize VCORE Voltage for better performance or battery life (if your chip supports it).
  • Control GPU Frequencies & Voltage directly for true efficiency (Performance or Powersave mode).
  • Auto-apply all your fine-tuning on boot.
  • Switch between handy PowerSave, Balance & Performance presets.
  • And more features as the project evolves.

Using it, I finally fixed the annoying lag in one heavy game without turning my phone into a portable heater. The “Balance” preset is my daily driver now smooth, but my battery doesn’t cry by noon. It’s powerful, but remember: with great root access comes great responsibility. Tweaking voltages needs a bit of knowledge to avoid instability.

If you’ve got a rooted Transsion MediaTek device and you’re comfortable digging deeper than standard apps, Project S.I.O.N is worth a look. It hands you the reins.

Assalamu Alaikum, I am a content writer and a junior Android developer. From a young age, I have always loved working with technology. At one point, I used to port many custom ROMs, but now I am mainly focused on developing Magisk modules. Please keep me in your prayers. Thank you.
