Lag can be a huge problem in games, especially ranked matches where a slight delay can mean the difference between winning and losing. I’ve encountered this problem many times in Team Fortress 2, where for some reason the screen would lag for half a second, and by the time I would start moving, I would already have missed my target. This kind of problem is usually solved with a reboot, but since I don’t want to have to restart the computer every time I play a game, I have looked into other ways to fix the lag. Recently, I found out that there are many different tweaks that can be made to the Linux kernel to help improve system performance.

Features:

  • Improves system-wide performance both for CPU and GPU to boost gaming performance.
  • Eliminates lag and frameskipping. For example, this encoder greatly improves playback of Busy City.
  • Optimizes deep level param to get higher and more stable FPS.
  • Tightens up touch response for better in-game action.
  • Improves Memory and Hard Drive speed.
  • Prevents thermal throttling, allowing for extended periods of high-intensity use.
  • **Smart power management for best of both worlds’.

Hardware limitations can be a real chore to work around. These combos are some of the most effective ways to make that easier, just straightening everything out under your control.
