Ever shot in a mobile game only to have your screen lag on the most crucial shot? I do. A lot. Our phones have very powerful GPUs and sometimes they just need a little bit of a push. A GPU Boost Module can be the answer to your lag filled prayers and the best part is that this tweak does not require root access.
Turning on GPU Boost can help improve system stability. You can start the Tuner by pressing the Action button in the corresponding tile. Please note that the process can run in the background and you may not be able to use the app while it’s running – so you should avoid uninstalling the app.
So, what can it actually do for you?
- Boosts GPU performance for smoother gaming.
- Improves FPS stability when action gets heavy.
- Optimizes GPU clock and rendering tasks in the background.
- Reduces lag and stutter during crucial gameplay moments.
- Enhances graphics processing efficiency.
- Minimizes frame drops in high-load scenes.
- Improves overall visual smoothness.
- Works with popular Android GPUs like Adreno and Mali.
So installation is quite simple, there are two no-root methods that we call Vexiro Manager and AxManager. They are really just installers for the module, in the sense that they will help you to install the module right. You can choose one of the tools, download it, download the GPU module from the source and it will do the rest. And with a simple reboot – you are good to go.
A miracle fix? Sadly no. Effects are noticeable, but varied. On my aging phone, I observed slightly fewer stutters (frame drops) in very graphics-intensive games, and what stutters there were tended to be less frequent and, therefore, less annoying. However, it’s still very much a budget-phone, not a premium-phone experience. We’re talking about a tweak rather than a replacement.
Unnecessary, but nice to have. Follow the golden rule when downloading modules (i.e. only download from the official developers).
