Step-by-Step Installation:
- Ensure Root Access: The first prerequisite is having root access via a custom recovery.
- Install via Magisk Manager:
- Open the Magisk Manager.
- Tap on the “Modules” section.
- Click “Install from Storage” and locate the geted file.
- Confirm the installation and allow the module to apply the necessary changes.
- Reboot Your Device: After installation, reboot your device to activate the module.
Major Changes
- CPU onlines/offlines toggling when the screen is turned off to avoid possible stutter or frame skips when unlocking.
- This ensures smoother wake-up transitions and improved responsiveness.
I’m a battery percentage checking the freak of nature, and I need to work on saving more battery life. The phone was rooted for complete control, but I wanted something a bit more automatic, without having to control every single option. This is where the CoreSaver Engine Magisk module came in. It’s been my maybe best module of late.
So here is the ridiculously simple concept of this solution. Once installed via Magisk (KernelSu/APatch) it is very much self-sustaining and no need to mess about with it. The concept is quite elegant, though. This thing “goes into overdrive” in terms of battery saving as soon as the screen is switched off.
Features
Let me break down what it actually does under the hood:
- Screen-off based power saver: The moment you lock your phone the power saver is activated.
- Dynamic CPU core control: Cuts power to CPU cores that are idle. Activity = consumption.
- GPU deep idle optimization: This feature is designed to put the GPU in a deeper sleep. This is fantastic for battery life while in standby.
- Boosts & scheduler tuning: Modifies how the processor of your phone handles background work.
- Auto apply / restore on screen state change: The best part is that this feature allows your phone to unlock and snap back to normal state instantly without any delay.
So the world is a slightly different place with the Power module installed. For me, it has two really noticeable effects. First of all, my phone barely seems to drain when it’s in my pocket. I can safely leave it an extra hour or so without plugging it in at night, a bonus that’s hard to forget. It feels like the work I used to do by hand (for example, turning off Bluetooth, locating apps and removing notifications) is now handled by the Power module – and it’s doing a better job than I ever could.
Root required! Magisk or KernelSu users only I’ve just found out about the CoreSaver Engine and I believe it’s a great piece of root work. No need to be techy, just root and then this app can be used to deal with your over night battery drain. Great bit of work and one I’ve just started using and feel a bit more relaxed now my battery will last longer.
