Performance tweaks featuring I/O optimization, scheduler boost, and Performance governor management for maximum gaming responsiveness.
Changelog
Behavior
- Foreground-Aware Governor: The CPU governor now dynamically follows the active foreground application:
- Opening an application with Performance Mode enabled switches the governor to
performance(orturboif supported by the kernel) and locks the maximum CPU and GPU frequencies. - Switching to another application or exiting immediately reverts the governor back to
schedutil. If the kernel does not supportschedutil, the original or a fallback governor is used.
- Opening an application with Performance Mode enabled switches the governor to
- Persistent State Monitoring: The background daemon checks the foreground application every 2 seconds and re-applies the settings while you remain in that app, ensuring thermal or system resets do not undo them.
- Global Switch: The global toggle (
tweaks_state=1) continues to enforce performance mode across all applications.
Fixes
- WebUI Synchronization: Fixed an issue where setting Performance Mode from the WebUI did not take effect because settings were only applied when the game was in the foreground while toggling from the root manager. The WebUI and the daemon now share a single idempotent sync routine.
- Detached Daemon Process: Settings no longer turn off when the root manager is closed. The daemon is now launched with
setsidto detach it from the manager's process tree and restarts automatically whenever changes are made in the UI. - Global State Preservation: The global state is no longer overwritten. Previously, the daemon wrote
tweaks_state=1every time an enabled app opened, leaving the global switch stuck on. Nowtweaks_stateonly changes when manually set, and the active state is tracked separately (applied). - Per-App Disabling: Disabling a single application no longer force-disables performance mode for all other applications.
- Renderer Property Mapping: The Renderer option now functions properly. Previously, the UI sent names like
SkiaVK, whereas Android only acceptsskiavk, skiagl, oropengl. These values are now mapped accurately, and selecting "Default" clears the property. - Threaded Renderer Syntax: Fixed a shell error in
index.htmlwhere the "(Threaded)" renderer options failed due to unquoted parentheses. - Uninstallation Cleanup: Fixed
uninstall.sh, which previously pointed to the wrong module folder (spectral_tweaks). It now properly stops the daemon, restores the governor, resets the display resolution (wm size reset), and clears the renderer setting.
Improvements
- Reboot Persistence: Renderer settings for enabled applications are now re-applied after a reboot by
service.sh(sincesetpropchanges are lost on reboot). - Configuration Retention: Updating the module no longer wipes user settings.
customize.shcopies the previous configuration and no longer resetstweaks_stateto0. - Lighter Governor Writes: The governor value is now written only when it actually differs from the current state, reducing system overhead.
- Version Update: Bumped
module.propfrom version3.0(versionCode 3) to3.2(versionCode 5).
Known Issue (Unchanged)
- Target Frame Rate: The Target Frame Rate option uses
debug.hwui.fps, which is not a standard Android system property and may have no effect.
