MagicDesk is an open-source workstation that transforms your phone into a multi-display desktop environment. It runs native Android apps, Linux graphical programs, and full-featured terminals side-by-side in resizable windows. Privileged features require Shizuku or direct root to manage windowing APIs.

Technical Overview

MagicDesk utilizes a privileged service initialized via Shizuku or root to interact with hidden Android framework WMShell APIs for native task management and input routing. It embeds an internal X11 server and Wayland compositor sharing a Vulkan or software backend with Android HardwareBuffer transport, allowing Linux applications to render directly alongside standard Android tasks.
