ProcessLens is an open-source Android process observatory that tracks live system activity without fabricating restricted data. By leveraging Shizuku for ADB-level shell access without root, it provides unvarnished metrics across processes, CPU, memory, and wake locks to help users identify authentic resource hogs.
Technical Overview
Instead of estimating blocked /proc data, the architecture routes queries through SystemObserver to wrap every reading inside an explicit Observed<T> sealed interface. Integrating with Shizuku unlocks elevated ADB inspection—including thread states, parent-child process hierarchies, and wake locks—without requiring root access. Built with zero network permissions in its manifest, the app retains all collected runtime data inside an offline Room database.

- Live Dashboard: Monitors CPU per-core utilization, thermal zones, load average, storage, and memory with configurable refresh intervals from 1 to 10 seconds.
- Process Inspection: Inspects UID states, thread counts, start times, and parent-child trees alongside installed app components and active services.
- Investigation Recording: Captures background resource spikes against custom thresholds, tracks wake locks, and exports event timelines to JSON, CSV, or plain text.
- Capability Detection: Evaluates 37 individual system metrics dynamically at runtime across nine categories to report genuine device-level accessibility.
