Game GPU Tune is a non-root gaming utility for AxManager. It detects installed games to apply ahead-of-time (AOT) compilation, adjusts display refresh rates, and coordinates thermal policies via Wireless ADB to improve gaming performance.

Technical Details

The plugin operates under shell UID 2000 by executing cmd package compile in speed mode to run ahead-of-time (AOT) compilation on target titles. It coordinates peak display refresh rates with thermal throttle profiles while granting active standby bucket and wakelock exemptions to game packages, replacing ineffective non-root GPU overclocking by utilizing legitimate Android framework controls.

Core Features of Game GPU Tune

  • AOT compilation: Executes cmd package compile in speed mode to pre-compile game code and eliminate runtime execution delays.
  • Automatic detection: Identifies installed gaming packages automatically while allowing targeted adjustments per application.
  • Background exemptions: Grants active standby bucket priority and wakelock clearance to prevent background resource throttling.
  • Display synchronization: Aligns global screen refresh rate caps with system thermal policies to sustain frame delivery.

Support & Requirements

Requires Android 8.0 or newer and execution via AxManager using Wireless ADB.

How to Install Game GPU Tune

  1. Activate AxManager via Wireless ADB on your Android device.
  2. Download the Game GPU Tune plugin .zip archive.
  3. Open the AxManager app, navigate to the plugin menu, and import the .zip file.
  4. Access the WebUI to select target game packages and apply the configuration.

Disclaimer: Hardware GPU frequencies and kernel devfreq paths cannot be altered without root access; performance adjustments rely entirely on supported framework APIs.
