I was using an app and then the screen would just freeze and skip frames. Random UI lag is probably my least favorite thing.
That’s why I switched to Xyv SkiaVK Renderer Plugin. I have been using this rendering plugin for a long time and the switch to this plugin gave me quite a huge boost in performance – literally a night and day difference. The OpenGL rendering pipeline is quite old and a lot of work for a small gain in performance. With the advancements in computer technology, going with the more modern Vulkan render pipeline has given me a huge boost in rendering performance.
I use this to prevent my phone from lagging when I really use it. Like when I’m doing multiple things at once or when I have to deal with very heavy user interfaces. This really needs to be done as our GPUs are being held back by old rendering engines.
Features
- Enables Skia Vulkan backend: Moves rendering to a much newer and highly optimized graphics API.
- Uses the new graphics API instead of the legacy OpenGL pipeline.
- Delivers smoother UI rendering: Noticeably faster touch response and fluid animations.
- Reduces GPU overhead all around Reduces GPU overhead so your phone runs cooler and faster.
- Improves frame consistency: Stops those random, annoying frame drops during daily use.
- Systemless Magisk integration: Keeps your core system files untouched and safe.
- Improves graphics performance.
- Improves smoothness of UI: Stutters and micro-lags are unwanted side effects of a smartphone that should deliver the best possible user experience.
I’m actually done with the AXR Plugin. It’s really simple to apply this render engine to Cyanogenmod ROMs. No need to go through the hassle of building CM, because AxManager 3 already comes with a plug-in that allows you to install the AXR Plugin that renders the skin properly with little to no tinkering at all. Just install it, shutdown the tablet and then power it on.
