Tweaks to the existing Nusantara performance scheduler aimed at increasing adaptivity to different system conditions under the working title Nusantara Tweaks. A performance scheduler is part of the system which provides adaptations to achieve performance and energy efficiency of computing devices while at the same time improving user experience by having minimal disruptions caused by heating or battery drain. This is implemented through a performance scheduler daemon that adjusts resources according to the current system workload.

Unlike static tweak scripts, Nusantara applies contextual adjustments to maintain stability, sustained performance, and battery longevity across multiple SoC platforms:

Key Features

All system-level controls are presented in a fine-grained fashion via the active daemon and the modern WebUI interface of Nusantara.

Core Capabilities

● Universal Kernel Tweaking: We have implemented an adjustable kernel tweaking code that is compatible with almost all Android versions and also most of the custom kernels.
● Dynamic CPU/GPU Clocking: Real-time frequency scaling to reduce thermal throttling and keep your workload running smoothly.
● Device-Specific System Constants: Optimized system property configurations tailored for improved responsiveness.

  • Linux Kernel Change Custom DVFS Rules: This feature allows Userspace-controlled Dynamic Voltage and Frequency Scaling (DVFS) for better thermal and performance management.

● I/O Scheduler Tuning: The I/O scheduler queue behavior was tuned to decrease latency during high I/O load.
● Governor Optimization: We have done the fine tuning of the CPU governor parameters which results in better scaling behavior.
Preloader Adaptive Budget This feature adapts CPU time and resource priority during workload changes to minimize cold-start latency and micro-stutter.
● Networking AI Velocity: Optimizations in the networking stack that can help improve the consistency of latency, stability of throughput and even help in power management for a more intelligent and velocity-oriented networking stack.

AI-Driven 3 Profile by Velocity

Nusantara integrates a context-aware engine that automatically switches between three operational modes:

  1. Performance: For systems that will be running demanding workloads or gaming and where the primary focus is on maintaining a stable clock speed, consistent frames per second (FPS) and low jitter.
  • NORMAL: Optimized mode for typical use cases with variable output scaling according to load requirements.
  • POWERSAVER: This is one of the scaling strategies that help to optimize battery performance and increase battery life under an idle or low demand state.
