Step-by-Step Installation:

  1. Make sure you have LSposed installed on your device.
  2. Install modules as regular apps.
  3. After installation:
    • Open the LSPosed Manager.
    • Tap on the “Modules” section.
    • Click the module you installed.
    • Tick the enable switch.
    • Select apps to which the modules should apply. [Most of the modules now support displaying recommended scope, which LSPosed will select automatically]
  4. Reboot Your Device

Let’s face it, nothing ruins an otherwise clean Android interface like throwing a premium icon pack atop only half of the applications on your device. It’s the most tragic sight in the world to finally sit down and meticulously curate a cohesive design set for your Android interface only to then have to stumble back into the lesser world of default iconography that clutters the settings panel or the recent apps interface. It’s like wearing a tuxedo and then deciding to liven things up with a pair of neon green Crocs.

All launchers promise “icon pack support” but that really means that they will only change the wallpaper on the home screen launcher icon and leave all the other icons looking the same. With the Global Icon Pack module I finally have what I’ve always wanted. A simple set it and forget it solution.

Why This Module Actually Works?

The launcher attempts to obscure icons. However this module does it at a system level, as opposed to a launcher level. Thus it bypasses the launcher’s attempts to hide icons. This works by modifying the Android base code with the LSposed mod. The result is a uniform icon set across all pages, including the app drawer.

Here’s what you’re getting:

  • System-Wide Consistency It also replaces icons in the Settings and Recent Apps screens to create more consistency across the system.
  • Launcher Freedom: No need to switch to default UI. It works with almost all launchers.
  • LSposed Integration: Enable/Disable it as you prefer by using the LSposed Manager.
  • No Reboot Needed – you can see icon colour changes happening in real time.
  • Play Store Friendly This App works very well with all your icon packs that you have, or that you have seen on the Google Play Store.
  • Deep Theming Deep theming on Xposed Modules means that more than just the app icons and backgrounds are changeable. Thanks to Xposed Moduls, the Android UI parts that usual applications cannot access can also be themed.

My Real-Life Take

I was a bit apprehensive about giving this a shot, especially after running into those global theme apps that caused my phone to be lagging and slow. However, this one has actually proved to be very light and the theming is more natural than I ever expected. Setup requires installing LSposed.

If you’re like me and just love to customize the look and feel of just about anything, you might be surprised to find out just how much you don’t have to sacrifice function or form to have a completely stock and professional looking software experience on your Galaxy S3. In my tests, I was able to achieve a completely stock look and feel on the entire operating system without needing to so much as crack open a system file in an editor. I’ve always felt that my Galaxy S3 is quite the capable piece of hardware, but with the right software it truly starts to feel more like a large and in charge iPhone, albeit one with some major feature advantages.
