Let’s be real for a second, there is nothing more annoying than buying a phone with a 120Hz display, only to have it stutter like a PowerPoint presentation when you’re gaming or scrolling through Twitter. Manufacturers love to throttle our refresh rates to “save battery,” but honestly, I’d rather charge my phone twice a day than look at a choppy screen.

I’ve been testing different setups recently because I was tired of my frames dropping mid-game. That’s when I stumbled upon this specific Brevent-based config. I was skeptical at first, usually, you need to root your device to force these settings, but this one actually works without voiding your warranty.

My Experience Using This Config

I threw this config onto my daily driver (which usually aggressively kills background apps and throttles to 60Hz in games). The difference was night and day. Before, switching between apps felt a bit heavy, almost sticky. After setting this up via Brevent, the UI felt instantly snappier.

It’s not just a placebo effect. I noticed that games which used to lock themselves to 60 FPS were finally pushing through to that 90-120 FPS sweet spot. It feels like unlocking the phone you actually paid for.

The Features

Here is what happened after I applied the config. It’s not just about big numbers; it’s about how the phone feels in your hand:

  • Unlocks stable 120Hz refresh rate support: Say goodbye to that jittery variable refresh rate that can’t make up its mind.
  • Forces high refresh rate across supported apps and UI: Even apps that usually default to 60Hz are forced to run smoother.
  • Reduces frame drops and screen stutter: The micro-stutters that happen when you switch tasks? Gone.
  • Improves scrolling smoothness and touch responsiveness: This is huge for web browsing. The text stays readable even while you’re flicking through pages.
  • Optimizes display: Colors and motion clarity look crisper because the panel is refreshing as it should.
  • Enhances gaming visuals with smoother frame delivery: If you game, this is the killer feature. No more tearing or lag when the action gets heavy.
  • Maintains system stability without heavy tweaks: Since we aren’t rooting or modifying system partitions, your banking apps and safety net remain 100% intact.

Supported Games

  • PUBG Mobile,
  • PUBG New State,
  • Call of Duty Mobile,
  • Call of Duty Warzone Mobile,
  • Fortnite,
  • Apex Legends Mobile,
  • Free Fire / Free Fire MAX,
  • Asphalt 9: Legends,
  • Real Racing 3,
  • Genshin Impact,
  • Honkai Impact 3rd,
  • Minecraft,
  • League of Legends: Wild Rift,
  • Mobile Legends: Bang Bang,
  • Standoff 2,
  • And more games,

Note: Actual 120Hz availability depends on device hardware, ROM support, and in-game settings.

The Verdict

Look, if you want your phone to feel “Pro” without the hassle of unlocking bootloaders or flashing risky files, this Brevent method is the way to go. It’s clean, reversible, and just makes using Android fun again. Why drive a Ferrari in a school zone? Unlock that display.
