What Is Ping Latency?

This feature shows your ping latency, which is the amount of time (in milliseconds (ms)) it takes for your device to communicate with our game servers. Even a difference of 50ms can mean the difference between winning and loosing in competitive gaming. The lower the ping, the faster you will get real time communication with the games servers.

The Impact of High Latency:

  • Delayed Actions all attacks including movement and shooting happen a little slower than normal.
  • Rubberbanding Characters or objects may suddenly jump back to a previous location.
  • Server Disconnects: Occasionally extreme lag will disconnect you from a match.

Gaming has become increasingly a multiplayer activity. Now, research reveals that latency could be hindering your chances of winning multiplayer games – and most gamers blame it for causing them to lose.
A new study by Broadband experts HighSpeedInternet.com has found that 72% of gamers believe open latency is the biggest obstacle to success when playing online games with others in 2023.

How the Ping Latency Booster Works

This Magisk module modifies two parts of the system to drastically lower latency.

1. DNS Server Optimization

To mankind, the Domain Name System (DNS) seems invisible until it fails to deliver. That’s because by default your computer uses the DNS servers assigned to you by your Internet Service Provider (ISP). These DNS servers are generally slow and overcrowded. However, there are many alternative DNS services around the world designed specifically for better performance, including the two utilized by this module, Google’s public DNS and Cloudflare’s DNS. Together, they cut DNS lookup times by as much as 30%.

2. TCP/IP Stack Tweaks

A specialized function on this module also refines the pre-set communication parameters for your device’s hardware, specifically strengthening or speeding up the exchange of information for enhanced performance and reliability.

  • Increasing packet transmission efficiency.
  • Prioritizing gaming traffic over background apps.
  • Preventing bufferbloat (network congestion caused by excessive data buffering).
