The WiFi Smart Roam Magisk module is a root-level networking tool that forces Android devices to aggressively switch to the strongest available access point. It relies on deep system integration to bypass default software behaviors, actively monitoring RSSI levels to trigger faster network handoffs.
I flashed this because my phone constantly refused to drop weak 2.4GHz signals when moving around the house. It completely stopped that annoying habit, smoothly handing off my connection to the 5GHz band without me having to toggle airplane mode every ten minutes.
-
Dual-condition roaming forces the system to jump to a closer access point the moment your current AP RSSI hits -50dBm, rather than waiting for a complete disconnect.
-
Prioritizes 5GHz bands automatically by continuously scanning for them on the same SSID, grabbing the connection as long as the signal strength holds above -70dBm.
-
Forces cellular failovers if you hit a WiFi dead zone, actively handing the connection over to your mobile data when the cellular RSRP reaches -85dBm or higher.
-
Runs silently in the background starting right at boot, utilizing Magisk root access to integrate deeply into the OS without touching your vendor partition.
-
Edit your own timers within the configuration file to alter the default 15-second scanning interval and the 60-second handoff cooldown.
If you have a mesh network or multiple access points and your phone refuses to switch between them smoothly, this is a necessary flash. It cures Android's stubborn habit of holding onto weak signals for too long.
