Unresponsive touchscreens are quite common on external kiosks like the screens you find on gas station pumps. I experienced this phenomenon with my phone’s touchscreen at times, and it drove me a bit crazy. Today’s review device, the NVT Touch Optimizer Module, which is available as a Magisk module, seemed to address issues like these that most users don’t even be aware of.

Note this is not a ‘smoothen all’ module, it is a fine tuner specifically for the NVT touch driver. I can tweak the module to fine tune it for your specific model, from my own experience with it. Changes I’ve seen on my own device include:

✨ Touch & Responsiveness

  • Better Touch: My taps and swipes register correctly (finally) and not a millisecond later than when I actually do them. This is huge. I hope it stays that way and is compatible with fast typing.
  • Input Accuracy: We’ve improved the accuracy of scrolling through fast lists so that they now precisely follow the position of your finger, rather than jumping around uncontrollably.
  • Less Lag: This product really does reduce latency and make games more responsive. The delays between actions have been minimized and that enhances the overall gaming experience.

🧠 Filtering & Stability

  • Less accidental palm presses: My palm used to randomly touch the screen and cause problems. That isn’t happening anymore.
  • Stable Under Heavy Load - Gaming Tested: No issues were encountered, and the touchpad remained stable during extensive gaming.

🎯 The Real Difference is that the IDC file adjustments made in this app actually make touch linear and accurate, and don’t add that “overshoot” smoothness that every other app seems to do. It’s just really natural feeling, and it works perfectly on my aosp-based custom ROM.

This app implements the tweak on devices with screen resolution greater than 1080p using a variety of backdoor methods to enable root on the device. It supports Magisk, KernelSU and APatch form factor, and starts early enough that the tweak should be active at boot. It’s safe and won’t conflict with anything like SurfaceFlinger that’s critical to your system operation.

My Thoughts On This This is a great fix for people with the NVT Touchscreen and who feel the phone is lacking in some areas with their current navigation and user interface. This is NOT a major rewrite of how your phone looks, but does make operating it a nicer experience, especially when it comes to just interacting with the screen. As with anything like this, ALWAYS FLASH A CURRENT BACKUP FIRST!!!
