Echidna is a native-first, root-based real-time voice changer for Android devices. It bypasses virtual audio routing by directly injecting a low-latency digital signal processing engine into target apps using Zygisk and LSPosed, allowing for live voice modification during calls and games.

I tested Echidna during a few multiplayer gaming sessions, and the low-latency native injection genuinely kept my changed voice from lagging behind the action. By hooking straight into the app's audio path via Zygisk rather than relying on a clunky virtual microphone, it applied the pitch shifts and EQ filters instantly.

How to Install

  1. Flash the echidna-magisk.zip file directly through the Magisk app and reboot your device.
  2. Install the echidna-companion.apk to access the control dashboard.
  3. Open the companion app, run the compatibility wizard, and select the specific apps you want to modify.

Most Android voice changers rely on generic userspace apps that introduce heavy audio delay. You should download Echidna because it operates at the root level, processing sound directly inside the target application. This gives you actual real-time voice masking for phone calls and voice chats without the annoying echo or lag found in non-root alternatives.
